Pentecost Preview Service
Our second Preview Worship Service is coming up on Pentecost Sunday, May 19 at 4:00pm!
Pentecost is an important feast day in the Church. On Pentecost Sunday we celebrate God sending the Holy Spirit to empower the Church in life, worship, and ministry. You’re invited to join in this special service of worship!
As a church plant, a Preview Service is a come-and-see opportunity. God is at work building something exciting for his honor and for the good of Memphis. Come check out what God is doing!
A Preview Service is also a worship service. God is good and worthy of our worship! So we gather to give God the praise that he’s deserving of.
So join in! And stick around after for a Pentecost Picnic right after the worship service. There will be plenty of food to enjoy!
Here are some FAQs:
When and where?
Our Pentecost Worship Service is Sunday, May 19 at 4:00pm in the chapel at 815 N. McLean Blvd.
What about my kids?
Children are always welcome to participate in our worship services, and we believe children’s participation is important for them and also for us grown-ups. We will have nursery available for children ages 0-4.
What is our worship service like?
In our worship, you can expect to sing songs of worship to God, hear Bible reading and a sermon, pray together, and participate in Communion together.
You’ll also notice many ancient Church practices that we believe are still relevant and important today (like wearing robes and saying ancient creeds).
This reflects one of our values as a church plant: liturgy. As a liturgical church, we submit to the Church’s historic worship of God according to the Book of Common Prayer. We don’t re-invent the wheel week-to-week, guided by the changing tides of culture or the whims of a leader; instead, we join the people of God throughout the ages in beautiful, reverent, and sacred worship.
