Formation Groups
Who are you following?
Everybody is following somebody—or at least something.
Put another way, we’re all disciples.
The question isn’t, Am I a disciple?
It’s, Who or what am I a disciple of?
— John Mark Comer, Practicing the Way
Jesus invites you to follow him, to be his disciple, his apprentice. “Come, follow me.” These words from Jesus are the greatest invitation you’ll ever hear. This is the life you’re made for—a life of following Jesus. This invitation is worth your serious attention and thoughtful reflection.
One of our church plant’s values is FORMATION. In a consumeristic and individualistic culture, driven by fulfilling my desires at all costs, we want to take seriously Jesus’s call to follow him.
One of the primary vehicles where we’ll grow as apprentices (disciples) of Jesus is Formation Groups.
Formation Groups are groups of 7-12 adults practicing following Jesus together. We use content from Practicing the Way as a guide.
These groups spend time together, grow in love for one another, eat meals together, pray together, and attend to our spiritual formation in Christ.
