Do You Want to Pray More?

Did you start 2025 with new habits, resolutions, or goals? We're a few weeks into the new year, officially past the second Friday in January, coined "National Quit Day!" How are you doing with the habits or goals you were so eager about just a few weeks ago?

Many people desire a richer prayer life. It's a common resolution for followers of Jesus. And a good one! But we often feel stuck. If you feel like you're hitting a wall in your prayer life, you're not alone!

I'm regularly asked (especially around New Year's) how to use the Book of Common Prayer devotionally to pray regularly. I'm encouraged by these questions—underneath them is a desire for a more rooted, more consistent, deeper life with God.

Personally, the Book of Common Prayer has been an absolute game-changer in my spiritual formation. Nothing has helped me grow in my relationship with God like living according to a Prayer Book Rule of Life.

So I put together this short video sharing one way you can begin using the Book of Common Prayer to deepen your own prayer life.

Our Formation Groups are currently working on the practice of prayer. Formation Groups are small groups of adults and children who build relationships with one another and intentionally seek to be formed as followers of Jesus.

We're not created to be alone. Spiritual formation, discipleship, growing in Christ—whatever you want to call it—is not a solitary activity. If it is for you, you'll always be stuck.

So my encouragement to you is to watch this video, try this prayer practice out for a while, and see how your life may change. And don't go at it alone. If you want to join a Formation Group to grow alongside others, let me know.
