Annual Church Meeting 2025
On Sunday evening, we enjoyed our first-ever Annual Church Meeting. It was a beautiful evening of sharing food together, celebrating the many ways God has been at work in our midst, and looking forward to what’s to come.
One of the challenges I issued is for our year to be marked by hospitality, which looks like “open calendars and open doors.”
We’re at an important juncture in the life of our church plant. One thing we celebrated at the meeting is the rich, genuine, and deep friendships that have formed in our church community. Some of us have been around for more than a year, many others have joined our community recently, and many more will join in the coming months. Our desire is for everyone to experience the shared life in Christ that we’ve enjoyed so much. Our life together is part of the abundant life that Jesus came to bring. “I have come that they may have life and have it abundantly.” (John 10:10)
Hospitality marked the life of our church plant in the early days, and it will be an essential ingredient as we move forward and welcome people into this abundant life in Christ.
Hospitality looks like open calendars and open doors.
How can you create space and time for others? Our lives are busy and chaotic. Do you need to say “no” to some things to have space to say “yes” to others?
What would it look like for you to open your home or to say “yes” to invitations into the homes of others?
Our dream is to be a growing community of disciples that embodies Jesus in Memphis so that people have a transformational encounter with him. Jesus is the truly hospitable One. To more faithfully embody him to Memphis and beyond, may we experience the hospitality of Jesus, grow in that hospitality, and share it with others. May Christ be honored in this church plant in 2025!
